Medical Term for the Type of Cancer: Oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma, HPV+
Tongue Cancer Symptoms: Brachial cleft cyst at the base of neck - HPV+, noncancerous. 2 1/2 years later, swollen cervical lymph node.
Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects: Right partial glossectomy, less than half the tongue (3.1 cm with necrosis). Right tonsillar fossa tumor resection. Right neck dissections, levels 2A, 2B, 3, and 4 (55 lymph nodes removed, 7 cancerous - one necrotic).
