Anal Cancer Symptoms: Changes in bowels, narrowing of stools and maroon blood in stool.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: 5/7/19 through 5/11/19 and 6/10/19 through 6/14/19. Mouth sores fatigue skin irritation from PICC line.

Anal Cancer Symptoms: None really, but about 3 months before colonoscopy had some swelling and bleeding down there. Thought it might be hemorrhoids. If it happened a second time I was going to check it.

Anal Cancer Symptoms: Had a dull ache in the bum area for a few weeks & it finally got bad enough I went to the Dr who recommended a colonoscopy & during the procedure they took a biopsy of the tumor they found. I was so shocked. It was unreal.

Anal Cancer Symptoms: Rectal pain and bleeding. Told it was a hemorrhoid. Fortunately, I kept demanding to see the doctor.

Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects: A chemo port was surgically installed just under my collar bone. Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: The standard for anal cancer: two rounds of 5FU & Mitomycin. Lost about half my hair. Very bad mouth sores and oral thrush, especially in the 10 days after infusions. Became neutropenic (big drop in the type of white blood cells that are the major infection fighters) with second round of Mitomycin.

Bio: 60 years old. Diagnosed 9/18 Completed treatment 11/18. First scan showed residual disease. Husband died 2 years ago from HPV + head and neck cancer.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: 5fu and Mitomycin two rounds Oct-Nov 2018. Did not tolerate 5fu. Caused a Type 2 heart attack. Each round of chemo required heart unit stays/

Anal Cancer Symptoms: Blood in poo for a couple of years. Assumed it was hemorrhoids. Didn't want to deal with it as I had surgery for that years ago and spent a week in the hospital. Very painful recovery. When the blood started squirting out before pee or poo... I figured there was a problem.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: Chemo didn't affect me too much. Got some weird tastes in my mouth. My hair thinned a lot. Used to love beer, now I don't have a taste for it. I have a constant smell in my nose like some kind of burnt food.
