Tonsil Cancer Symptoms: Ongoing sore thoat - Was thought to be infection, then abscess then tonsil stone. Not until tonsilectomy was cancer discovered.

Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects: January 17, 2011 - Tonsilectomy - Ouch for 2 weeks lost 10 pounds but got through it.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: February 25, 2011 - Cysplatin (Cisplatyn) I don't know 4 of 8 weeks only as it ruined my throat way early and did it's job - according to the dr.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: The standard for anal cancer: two rounds of 5FU & Mitomycin. Lost about half my hair. Very bad mouth sores and oral thrush, especially in the 10 days after infusions. Became neutropenic (big drop in the type of white blood cells that are the major infection fighters) with second round of Mitomycin.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: 4 rounds of taxotere & cytoxan every 3 weeks. Started 3/3/11. Second round completed 3/24/11; had allergic reactions to both drugs. Third round done without reactions (super slow drip) on 4/14/11. Fourth & FINAL round completed 5/5/11, and grateful for being finished!!
