Bio: My name is Nancy, I'm from Brazil, and I discovered an ovarian cancer on September 13, 2011. After four surgeries and 08 chemotherapy cycles I'm better and I could return to my life and my activities. After 10 months of pain, suffering, fear and uncertainty I feel fine now. Cancer Type: Ovarian Cancer
Stage of Cancer: Stage 3C cancer
Ovarian Cancer Symptoms: weight gain, increased abdomen, abdominal pain, ascites
Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects: There were three surgeries: The first was a laparoscopy to diagnose disease; The second was an attempt to debulking which was aborted due to tumor size. The third surgery happened after 4 cycles of chemotherapy. It was a total hysterectomy with optimal cytoreduction.
Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: There were eight cycles of chemotherapy: 4 before surgery and after surgery 4. My body responded well to chemotherapy and tumor marker (CA 125) decreased from 690 for 4.
