Medical Term for the Type of Cancer: Squamous cell carcinoma (scc) of Anal region
Anal Cancer Symptoms: Tail bone pain, progressively got worse, couldn't sit. Anal pain. Rapid weight loss.
Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: 2 Continuous drip 4-5 day, rounds 5-fu and Only one of mitomycin were given due to how sick I was towards 2nd treatment. One given oct. 2018 the other december 2018.

Medical Term for the Type of Cancer: (recurrent )squamous cell tumor in the anal canal ,not HPV related (HPV-), basaloid type (rare type)

Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects: Of teh intial tumor in 2018 all was taken out, but an area of pre-cancerous cells (AIN 3)was found around it and in the cutting edges of the wound.
Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: At recurrence now in 2020 capecetabine (5F-Utablets) and metomicine (1x) . Toxic reaction on capecetabine. (After 2nd opinion in 2018 I declined on chemo because the doctors did not agree on wether it was nessecary.)

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: Mitomycin & 5FU started on 1/18 ended on 1/22. Next chemo to start on 2/15. Side effects were constipation, fatigue and low appetite and aversion to smells.

Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects: from Oct. 2004 to July 2009 I have had 3 colon surgeries, now there is nothing left, a total hysterectomy and my gallbladder removed. I have had more colonoscopies than I can count...and have had two port-a-caths in and out.

Anal Cancer Symptoms: Chronological order: Blood-tinged drainage for months, then heavy bleeding with BMs-which I "hoped", for months, would go away. A hard skin tag, change in stool appearance, increased difficulty defecating. PAIN!
Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects: 02/17/11: Anal fissurectomy with lateral sphincterotomy. Only SE was pain. Now, I can poo w/o pain for the first time in MONTHS. It still looks weird (TMI.) This found the CA. 07/03/12--anal/rectal biopsy of suspicious tissue found during a DRE. Thankfully, it was only scar tissue.--I hurt like hell for 3 wks after though!! :/
Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: Mitomycin and f5u-begin 4/12/11. . . . I was EXTREMELY tired and became EXTREMELY short-of-breath (ended up with bronchitis, but I have asthma.) One of the meds, Mytomycin, I think, can adversely affect the lungs. My thyroid got messed up so I now take meds. Nodules on lungs, on CT . . . monitoring those.

Anal Cancer Symptoms: Bleeding and my anus started to feel swollen at times
Surgery Description, Dates & Side Effects: After a negative biopsy during a colonoscopy (3-2018), went in for surgery to have the lesion removed...another biopsy of the removed tissue showed it was cancer. I bounced back from the lesion removal surgery pretty quick.
Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: 5-21-18 thru 7-18-18. started with xeloda pills but could not keep them down. Switched to 5fU pump 24/7 for 8 weeks. Mostly tired, diarrhea during radiation but got better after. good days, bad days.

Chemotherapy Description, Dates & Side Effects: 2 rounds mitomyacin (push) and 5 FU (infusion pump at home X 4 days). 12/23/19 & 01/20/20. Severe fatigue. Nausea. Gastroesophageal imbalance requiring prescription Pepcid. Intolerance to pain meds. Severe Diarrhea.

Anal Cancer Symptoms: First felt a bump while showering and followed it until it formed what I thought was a hemorrhoid. At that time I was also due for my colonoscopy so I had it checked out immediately and game on!
