6 rounds of Carbo Platinum and Taxol from 3/18/05-7/8/05 major side effect after the chemo was stopped: fatigue, memory loss Started chemo again in October of 2008. Taxol, Carbo Platinum and Avastin. Switched the taxol to taxotere after four rounds because of neuropathy. Major symptoms, nausea, fatigue, nose bleeds, low white blood cells, memory loss, did I mention fatigue?
Paclitaxel(Taxol)/Carboplatin(Paraplatin) combination, intravenous, 4 treatments total, 3 weeks apart. My first treatment was Oct. 17th. The side effects weren't been too horrible. Days 3-6 I felt really bad, but I never vomited! I just felt VERY weak, and VERY sick. I was so pale I scared myself in the mirror, and sometimes I felt so bad I couldn't even talk. I had HORRIBLE constipation like never before, and I still have heartburn, which I never got before.
cistplatin, bleomyocin, etopiside, numbness in hands and feet nausea and weakness major chemo brain
June 20, 2006, and every following 3 weeks...through August 29, 2006...then the last 2 of the 6 treatments - November 7, 2006 & November 28, 2006 Carboplatin & Taxol I really didn't know what to expect with the first treatment. Felt great for 24 hours after...but then I felt like a semi-truck had run over me about 10 times...or worse case of the flu X 20! Twelve days later, I had a reverse mohawk going on (hair falling out)and had my husband shave my head. The worst of it was losing my eyelashes and eyebrows!!!! You know your hair is going to go...but no one told me ALL of my body hair would go!!! Talk about being striped of your "womanhood"! I still wince when I think of those times! Numbness in my feet(Pins & Needles)...always worse by the end of the day.
Nausea, fatigue/sleepiness, "Chemo brain" (inability to concentrate), dry skin, no nail growth, hair loss. January - May as of now
Had 2 courses of CarboPlatin and Taxol via vascualr Port; followed by 4 courses of IP chemo with Cisplatin and Taxol, one course every 3 weeks, requiring 3 days in hospital each time. Could only tolerate 4 courses because side effects were too severe: nausea, vomiting, constipation and diarrhea, ototoxicity resulting in some permanent hearing loss in left ear and also tinitus, tingling, numbness and pain in hands and feet (apparently permanent), and "chemo brain" - no short term memory, fogginess, confusion, and exhaustion. Serious loss of weight as well. Last 2 courses of chemo were via vascular port and the same as the first 2, and were tolerated fairly well.
Paclitaxel (Taxol)/Carboplatin (Paraplatin)combination. 6 treatments. 21 days apart.
One treatment so far on 3/23. Side effects for two days included exhaustion beyond sleepiness, nausea and depression. I'm so glad it only lasted 2 days! Constipation and painful bowel movements.
Carbo and Taxol 6 rounds. Loss all my hair, even my nose hair, eyebrows, everything. Weak, muscle and nerve pains, anemia
Taxol/Carbo 12/02-5/03 (with 2 Gemzar treatments) Avastin 8/06- 5/07 Etoposide / Avastin 8/08- Present

3- one month cycles of cisplatin, bleomycin, and etoposide. Side effects: Nausea, hair loss (roughly 1 month after chemo began), fever
Carbo/Taxol 4 treatments (didn't work) Then Doxil and a Trial Drug EC145 4 treatments (didn't work) Then Trial with Perisofone and Taxotere 3 treatments (again didn't work) Avstin and Cytoxan. Trial with Avastin/Torisel. I'm exhausted just typing all of this.

Taxol/Carbo x 8
Taxol/Carbo every 3 weeks. At 2nd round, Avastin was added to the mix & will receive for round 3 & 4 as well.

2/6/2009- Started Taxol and Carboplatnium cocktail. (6 sessions) 2/26/2009- Started GOG- 218 (Avastin Trial) Nurses/doctors notice side effects indicating she was actually receiving the drug.

First chemo carbo/taxol on May 7th. so far, a bit of joint and bone pain, nothing else
First Chemotherapy was Monday, March 29, 2010 - The only medical side effect was a very red face in reaction to the steroid in one of the preparatory drugs. Main side effect was pronounced "blues". Mom stayed on the couch for three days and ate very little.
July - November 2008: 6 rounds IP Cisplatin and IV taxol. Side effects: You name it, it happened... hair loss, nerve damage, mouth sores, drop in red blood cells which required a transfusion, high creatin, low magnesium and potassium, diarrhea, constipation... I still blame the nurse for not making sure my dexamethosone was added to the chemo! Next Monday I start 6 rounds of IV Carboplatin and Doxil.
Taxol and Carbo, every 3 weeks for 6 times, next (3rd) will be April 29. First three hours of administering drugs, agnonizing dizziness due to high dose of Benadrly to combat first few hours of chemo drugs. Next two days seem ok, with a false sense of energy, then day four through 8 no desire to drink, get dehydrated, can't stand or something strenuous for long periods of time, physically weak and tired always. Tiredness especially never is gone.
Mar.2007-taxol & carboplantinum (8 treatments) July 2008-taxol & carboplantinum (7 treatments) The first 2 rounds left me weak, loss of hair, nausea and vomiting Oct 2009-Doxil for six months. Side effects not so bad

July 24,2009 first treatment taxol and carboplatin. The only problem I had was my own fault. I got sick that night because I came home and ate stewed tomatoes and chased it down with a Pepsi! Big mistake because I quickly learned that Chemo and acid DON'T mix. Treatments 2,3, bought feet itching, loss of smell and taste. Treatment 4 was not to bad slight big toe bleeds but manageable, slight problem with vision seeing bright white spaces from within my eyes. Treatment 5 I had a mouth bleed, neuropthy more consistant. Treatment 6 manageable but eyes still have the spots. Neuropthy worsens, still itching.
I'm on my 4th round of chemo treatment in 3 years time. This round is 2 days a week. Side effects are joint pain, nasea, vomiting, diarrhea, night sweats, loss of appetite, hair loss, irritability, exhaustion, and thankfulness for each day
February 2009: CA125 level was around 3500. She began treatment with Taxol/Carbo with Avastin. Within two weeks, she lost all of her gorgeous red hair. Energy level dropped significantly. She continued having "maintenance" chemo. June 2009: CA125 dropped to 32, and then to 16 later that month. Oncologist decided to stop chemo- as there was no sign of cancer! March 2010: Having chest pain/shortness of breath. CT scan showed fluid in her lungs. Testing after thoracentesis revealed cancerous cells in the fluid. CA125 was back up to 300. It is now referred to as "RECURRENT CANCER" She began chemo again: Cisplatin and Gemzar. Cisplatin was causing tinnitus. Oncologist decided to discontinue to avoid permanent hearing damage. The Gemzar would usually burn during infusion. Side effects: headaches, intense nausea and often uncontrollable vomiting. Drastic decrease in appetite (and weight: about 70lbs) Last time it was checked, her CA12 was hovering around 86. I'm guessing it's currently off the charts.
1st. Chemo July - August 2009 2nd. Chemo February 2010 ip.chemo 3rd. Chemo January 2011 ip.chemo
I had my first chemo treatment on 04/07/2005 (my little brother's birthday) and I went for 6 hours a day, once every 3 weeks...
4 round of cisplatin, bleomycin and etoposide
Combined carboplatin and taxol, both administered systemically by IV started August 10, 2011, with last cycle administered November 23, 2011. Side effects included: nausea that was only gotten under control after the second administration using about 5 drugs; intense fatigue; muscle and joint pains that were reduced with tylenol and later greatly reduced with gabopentin; intense neuropathy in hands and feet, but even lips and chin until the gabopentin took the edge off that, too. Neuropathy still intense in first week of every cycle. Other side effects included intense fatigue, weakness, vision problems on two occasions (blindness in one eye when reading lying on side), severe constipation, and cognitive effects (short term memory dysfunction, inability to solve puzzles, inability to multitask or withstand multiple stimuli at once). There's talk of giving me a PARP-inhibitor for maintenance therapy in 2012. Constipation for 9 months! No, wait. Make that FOREVER! Seriously. Til my dying day.
6 rounds of chemo, first one 3/9/11, last one 6/21/11. Side effects: constipation; sharp pains in legs and feet; metal taste in mouth; heavy limbs; pain in joints; jittery; loss of all body hair; eventual numbness and tingling on bottoms of feet; and a slew of other things.
IP chemo. Taxol and Cisplatin. She has suffered from the following effects: fatigue, nausea, heart burn, pain in her lower abdomen, numbness/tingling in her hands, legs, feet and "chemo brain"
Start Jan 6, 2012 Six rounds of carboplatin and paclitaxel once every 3 weeks.
Started chemo July 7,2011--6 sessions of Taxotere and Carboplatin--first 2 treatments were horrible, nausea, got dehydrated, had to go to hospital for fluids and unable to eat or drink--started losing hair after 2nd treatment--hard to take--got nausea straight but still had metal taste in mouth and unable to drink or eat for about 2 weeks after chemo--couldn't really eat till the week before treatment time again--hardest thing I have ever gone thru in my life--and it still is chemo or not--finished chemo 10/18/11 & happy to say cancer free--still have side effects--the numbness and hair is taking it's time growing back--but I am happy to be here and alive.
7-2010 IP/IV chemo x 6 cycles ( cisplatin/taxol/carboplatin) Hair loss, extreme fatigue, abdominal pain... 11-2011 ca125 on the rise. 4/6 cycles complete of topotecan. Ca125 back in its place. BRCA 1 Minimal side effects: reasonable fatigue and well controlled nausea.
July 2011 started with carboplatin and taxol (7 rounds in all). Reaction to the decadron had some nausea at the beginning sol they tweaked it with emend, sore muscles and joints day 4,5,6,7 after chemo usually spent in bed. and spent the rest of the time getting semi normal before the next round Stopped in Sept until december 2011 during which i had surgery last treatment january 20 2012
Carboplatin started 2007, however I became allergic in 2008, so had to have it changed to Gemzar and Advastin then. Been on and off of chemo since for chronic cancer outbreaks.
There were eight cycles of chemotherapy: 4 before surgery and after surgery 4. My body responded well to chemotherapy and tumor marker (CA 125) decreased from 690 for 4.
4 months of chemo. Made me achy like having the flu but much worse especially in my legs, naseous, food tasted bad, water tasted bad, low energy.
I started chemo on Dec 3, 2012. I need to complete 6 treatments of Carbo and Taxol. My treatements or given over a period of 3 weeks. The first week I receive the full carbo dose and 1/3 of the taxol. The next two weeks I recieve the remaining taxol. I am having trouble keeping my WBC up with the weekly treatments. I had to have Neupogen shots to help give them a boost.
IP Cisplatin and IV Taxol for six cycles. Five of those cycles included Avastin and Avastin continued for 18 more cycles.
I have had chemo in 2004, 2009, and 2012. each chemo has been different than the one before. With my most recent round I was very nauseous and sick. Lost my hair with all of them and had muscle and bone pain. I also developed an orbital pseudotumer as a reaction to the carboplatin and had to be put on prednisone steroids. This will now be required anytime I am on carbo. It started as a twitching and watery eye almost like with allergies. The eye then swelled shut and was very painful.
My doctor said there wont be malignancy as the tumor was encapsulated, but it would be safe if i undergo 3sessions of chemotherapy. So i opted for chemo and had vomiting and hair loss while on therapy
3 cycles of: Cisplatin, Bleomycin, and Etopiside which caused nausea, fatigue, by second cycle I could no longer naturally fall asleep, escalated pulse, anxiety, depression, dry mouth and skin which now I have scratch marks on my back, vomiting, got a finger infection so wear rubber gloves when counts are low and a mask, slight ringing in ears, raw esophogus, heartburn and diarrhea.
Chemo consisted of 6 total treatments - 1 treatment every 21 days of a variety of steroids, anti-nausia meds and anti allergy meds along with 300mg of Taxal & 580mg of Carboplatin. Treatments started on Oct 2, 2014 and then every 21 days from there with the exception of late Dec. which was 25 days because the 21st day fell on Christmas day. Last Treatment was Jan. 20, 2015.
i had 6 months of cemo, I did good I was determined to not let it get me down. I worked full time and went to the gym three days a week,
6 cycles IV carboplatin and taxol. Nausea, severe fatigue, hair loss, muscle pain constipation. In the middle of chemo diagnosed with meniscus tears in both knees after significant knee pain. Ultimately had 2 surgeries for partial meniscus removal from which I'm still not healed. Neuropathy especially in feet became big issue leading to dose of chemo needing to be reduced after the 4th cycle. My gastroenterologist feels I have some degree of neuropathy in my colon as I do not eliminate as before. During chemo and persisting I often have a "full of stool" feeling even after eliminating. Very annoying and affects quality of life.
IP and IV chemo started March 1,2016

I still have fatigue after treatment, muscle atrophy and peripheral neuropathy.
Paclitaxel with carboplatin every three weeks for eight treatments as tolerated. I did get a Neulasta shot the day after chemo.
Beginning in April I had three treatments with Taxol and carbo platinum as well as Avastin. Joint pain was rough but gone after a week or so. I've mostly been easily tired out. My CA125 went up so I had another PETCT that showed an increase in the cancer I am now getting Doxil every four weeks and Avastin every two weeks. Side effects have been relatively mild - just tired a lot.
